Seest thou if he is on the road of Guidance?- 11 English Translation Or enjoins righteousness? 12 English Transliteration Aw amara bialttaqwa 12 Your browser does not support the audio element. Or enjoins Righteousness? 12 English Translation Have you seen if he denies and turns away - 13 English Transliteration Araayta in kaththaba watawalla 13 Your browser does not support the audio element. Seest thou if he denies Truth and turns away? 13 English Translation Does he not know that Allah sees? 14 English Transliteration Alam yaAAlam bianna Allaha yara 14 Your browser does not support the audio element. Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 English Translation No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock - 15 English Transliteration Kalla lain lam yantahi lanasfaAAan bialnnasiyati 15 Your browser does not support the audio element. If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- 15 English Translation A lying, sinning forelock. 16 English Transliteration Nasiyatin kathibatin khatiatin 16 Your browser does not support the audio element. A lying, sinful forelock! 16 English Translation Then let him call his associates; 17 English Transliteration FalyadAAu nadiyahu 17 Your browser does not support the audio element. Then, let him call for help to his council of comrades 17 English Translation We will call the angels of Hell. 18 English Transliteration SanadAAu alzzabaniyata 18 Your browser does not support the audio element. We will call on the angels of punishment to deal with him! 18 English Translation No! Do not obey him. بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ 960 Bismillah hir rahman nir raheem In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. ٱقۡرَأۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ 961 Iqra bismi rab bikal lazee khalaq Sahih InternationalRecite in the name of your Lord who created – خَلَقَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ مِنۡ عَلَقٍ 962 Khalaqal insaana min alaq Sahih InternationalCreated man from a clinging substance. ٱقۡرَأۡ وَرَبُّكَ ٱلۡأَكۡرَمُ 963 Iqra wa rab bukal akram Sahih InternationalRecite, and your Lord is the most Generous – ٱلَّذِي عَلَّمَ بِٱلۡقَلَمِ 964 Al lazee allama bil qalam Sahih InternationalWho taught by the pen – عَلَّمَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ مَا لَمۡ يَعۡلَمۡ 965 Al lamal insaana ma lam y’alam Sahih InternationalTaught man that which he knew not. كَلَّآ إِنَّ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ لَيَطۡغَىٰٓ 966 Kallaa innal insaana layatghaa Sahih InternationalNo! [But] indeed, man transgresses أَن رَّءَاهُ ٱسۡتَغۡنَىٰٓ 967 Ar-ra aahus taghnaa Sahih InternationalBecause he sees himself self-sufficient. إِنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ٱلرُّجۡعَىٰٓ 968 Innna ilaa rabbikar ruj’aa Sahih InternationalIndeed, to your Lord is the return. أَرَءَيۡتَ ٱلَّذِي يَنۡهَىٰ 969 Ara-aital lazee yanhaa Sahih InternationalHave you seen the one who forbids عَبۡدًا إِذَا صَلَّىٰٓ Abdan iza sallaa Sahih InternationalA servant when he prays? أَرَءَيۡتَ إِن كَانَ عَلَى ٱلۡهُدَىٰٓ Ara-aita in kana alal hudaa Sahih InternationalHave you seen if he is upon guidance أَوۡ أَمَرَ بِٱلتَّقۡوَىٰٓ Au amara bit taqwaa Sahih InternationalOr enjoins righteousness? أَرَءَيۡتَ إِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰٓ Ara-aita in kaz zaba wa ta walla Sahih InternationalHave you seen if he denies and turns away – أَلَمۡ يَعۡلَم بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَرَىٰ Alam y’alam bi-an nal lahaa yaraa Sahih InternationalDoes he not know that Allah sees? كَلَّا لَئِن لَّمۡ يَنتَهِ لَنَسۡفَعَۢا بِٱلنَّاصِيَةِ Kalla la illam yantahi la nasfa’am bin nasiyah Sahih InternationalNo! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock – نَاصِيَةٖ كَٰذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٖ Nasiyatin kazi batin khaatiah Sahih InternationalA lying, sinning forelock. فَلۡيَدۡعُ نَادِيَهُۥ Fal yad’u naadiyah Sahih InternationalThen let him call his associates; سَنَدۡعُ ٱلزَّبَانِيَةَ Sanad uz zabaaniyah Sahih InternationalWe will call the angels of Hell. ۩ كَلَّا لَا تُطِعۡهُ وَٱسۡجُدۡۤ وَٱقۡتَرِب Kalla; la tuti’hu wasjud waqtarib make sajda Sahih InternationalNo! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah].
SurahAl-'Alaq adalah surat urutan ke-96 di dalam Al Qur'an. Surat ini juga memiliki jumlah ayat yang sebanyak 19 ayat. Surat Al-'Alaq diturunkan di kota Mekah dan juga termasuk ke dalam surat Makiyyah. Surat ini diberi nama dengan ''Al-'Alaq'' karena diambil dari perkataan " Alaq " yang terdapat pada ayat ke-2 surat ini.

Suratal Alaq merupakan surat yang diwahyukan kepada Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam ketika beliau di gua Hira, sehingga surah al Alaq termasuk dalam surat Makiyyah. Surat al Alaq 1-19 menjadi urutan ke 96 dalam Al Quran. Namun jumhur ulama berpendapat bahwasanya surat al Alaq 1-5 merupakan surat yang pertama kali diturunkan oleh Allah
